Biography

Michael Cook is an associate with Cohen, Todd, Kite & Stanford, LLC with a particular concentration in criminal defense and civil litigation.

Michael grew up in Blue Ash, Ohio. He is an alumnus of St. Xavier High School, Xavier University, and the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Michael’s experience with criminal law started before joining Cohen Todd. Michael served as the Assistant Law Director for the City of Norwood, where he was the prosecuting attorney for the Norwood Mayor’s Court. This experience gives him insight into how prosecutors think.

If you or someone you know has already been convicted of a crime Michael can help. Michael has experience with the process of sentence reduction through judicial release and the sealing of criminal records.

Also, Michael has experience in gun rights litigation, specifically Ohio’s relief-from-weapons-disability statute. He recently protected his client from the government’s attempt to bar him from owning a firearm. Michael secured a court Order restoring his client’s Second Amendment right to own, use, and possess firearms. In the words of his client:

There is not a day that goes by that I'm not grateful for your help. I carry every day. My wife and kids are in the process of getting training to conceal carry. They would not have felt comfortable doing that if I did not have my rights restored.

Whether you have been cited for a traffic violation in a mayor’s court or you would like your right to bear arms restored, Michael and the lawyers at Cohen Todd may be able to help. Call him at 513-333-5220.
